Howdy! How was the month of April for you?
I'm not reading nearly as much as I did last year and my monthly stacks reflect that. Going back to school has changed everything for me. I'm reading...but I'm reading textbooks. Hmph.
The lack of time has made me much pickier about which books I'll spend my precious moments on. Here are the amazing books that I read in April:
Ruby by Cynthia Bond
The Word Exchange by Alena Graedon
Stay Where You Are & Then Leave by John Boyne
The Promise by Ann Weisgarber
Readathon Reads (Mini-reviews)

I'm gobbling up The Walking Dead. It's a good way to get my zombie drama fix until the next season starts.
I hope you've all had a great reading month. Here's to May!
Here's to May yes! I hope that I get to read more this month, but work is so hectic! I'm finally ahead with goodreads, so I really don't want to mess that up.
ReplyDeleteI'm finally on track with my Goodreads goal too. I hope I can keep it up!
DeleteYou will, I'm sure
DeleteSome great titles! I find I read less every year.
ReplyDeleteHappy May reading!
Last year I read like a maniac...this year, not so much. I'm happy to be reading good stuff though!
DeleteI didn't know you're going back to school?! What are you studying?! I'm never surprised at how much school can get in the way of reading. :-)
ReplyDeleteYep, studying up a storm! Well, a mild rainstorm anyway ;) I'm just doing general stuff for now and we'll see where that takes me.
Deletenot bad at all, with some great titles! here is my wrap-up: http://wordsandpeace.com/2014/05/01/2014-april-wrap-up/
ReplyDeleteIt was a pretty good month, even if I didn't read a TON ;)
DeleteThat's still not bad at all! i didn't know you'd gone back to school! Ditto Vasilly's question - what are you studying?
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm finishing up classes in Biology and Anthropology. :D I dig it!
DeleteI need a zombie fix before the season begins again, too. So hard to wait in between! I don't normally *read* zombie stuff, but maybe I'd do okay with these. Or maybe I should try World War Z. Hmmm... choices.
ReplyDeleteI've never read any zombie stuff either! These are good, if a little mindless ;) They're not nearly as layered an awesome as the show.
DeleteUm, you still did pretty well for a slow month! Are you going to school through the summer or will that be dedicated to reading?
ReplyDeleteNo school for this gal this summer! I need a break and I need to READ :D
DeleteI'm still impressed considering this was a slow month! Nice picks :)
ReplyDeleteKatrina @ Chased By My Imagination
Lol, thanks ;) I really need to stop comparing this years books to last years. I read like a maniac in 2013!
DeleteWow, your slow month is better than my regular month! Hope school is going well!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I guess I really shouldn't complain! It's going...that's about all I can say ;)
DeleteAmen for picking carefully. I feel like I've been doing that so far this school year (thank God summer is coming) because of the multiple jobs and my day job being super stinking busy.
ReplyDeleteBoo to being too busy for books, it's the worst!! Now I'm in this cycle of being too busy to really read so when I get 4 minutes I don't even WANT to read. Wah. What's happening???? :D
DeleteYou might be “behind” but you’re still way ahead of me!
ReplyDeleteYou're school schedule always sounds extra crazy to me though, it's amazing you can ever get a book in! I wish every reader could hit the lottery and have all the time in the world :D
DeleteWhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy haven't I read TWD yet? (PS, even when you're "slow" you're speedy!)
ReplyDeleteYes! Why haven't you? I think you'd get a kick out of the comics :D I'd love to read them with someone so we could kinda make fun of them, lol.
