As you may have heard, I've been slumping pretty hard. Thank you so much for your comments and concern. I appreciate it more than you know.
Did I burn myself out by reading so much this year? Am a having a case of blog-fatigue? Has Netflix seduced me into too many manic viewing sessions? (Parks & Recreation, 30 Rock, New Girl)
I'm afraid that all of the above is true. I don't know how the rest of 2013 will play out but I can feel the book love coming back. WHEW!!
Since my last wrap-up...

No promises, no plans. That's the way I envision the tail-end of 2013.
I hope you've had a great couple of weeks! See you again soon. I promise.
Glad to see a wrap up post, since I've been seeing your books on GoodReads. It's funny, you started reading The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly right after I came home from talking about it at the bookstore - it's so small and cute! Hope that this keeps working out for you!
ReplyDeleteHen was so cute! Sad, but cute ;)
DeleteYou’ll be back :) And I completely understand getting stuck into the Netflix hole. Bones, SVU, Grey’s Anatomy, etc…..
ReplyDeleteRight?! I'm glad I'm not alone ;)
DeleteJust little bits of Relentless Reader is better than no Relentless Reader... Enjoy your holidays and I'll read whatever you publish.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! :D
DeleteI am just on my way up from a slump right now. Don't beat yourself up about it, do what feels right, watch all the Netflix you need to - and the book buzz will return eventually. Enjoy the holiday season!
ReplyDeleteThanks a million Marie, same to you!
DeleteNo promises, no plans. That's what works for me too.
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm stuck on Parks & Recreation and lately CSI: NY and Numb3rs. I'm watching Midsomer Murders now.
My kidlet and I are getting into the 4th season of Glee now. :D There's always something great to watch!
DeleteI love Parks & Rec!!! I have only 1 more review book to finish reading and then I'm just going to read what I want for the rest of the year...hard to believe that's only 30 more days!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!

November and December are great months for reading whatever in the world we want! I'm glad you're doing the same :D
DeleteSorry to hear about the slumping! This whole year has been like one big blogging slump for me. Thankfully, reading has not followed suit, so good books are still being enjoyed despite the lack of good writing about them on my blog. Eh, well, it's December - definitely the time of year to let yourself do what you like and like what you do even if that happens to be Netflix over books and reading. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBlerg, sorry to hear that Megan! :( Let's hope that we both get over it SOON! I love the idea of taking a break in December and it seems that I'm not the only one :D
DeleteGirl, you know how much I adore you. I'm glad you're coming out from under your slump- those are the worst! You just let the end of 2013 play out and do whatever you want. Enjoy the holidays!
ReplyDeleteThanks sweetcheeks! I feel myself slowly digging out from under the slumpiness, hooray!
DeleteNetflix is a blessing and a curse.
ReplyDeleteNo joke! That's the perfect way to describe it, lol
DeleteFree range reading and blogging, baby! That's the way to cure a slump.
ReplyDeleteYep! I feel the need for a whole lot of that in 2014. No challenges, no set in stone schedule. I think that will suit me just fine!
DeleteAnd Netflix has seduced me into spending my weekends watching Dexter. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteThat's another show I'd really like to watch!!
DeleteSometimes a person just needs to stare at tv shows for a while. Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteYou're exactly right! I think I needed a good long time of zoning out.
DeleteAre slumps contagious? If so, then I'm catching it. If i don't get inspired in the next 2 days then the slump is official. It happens to all of us from time to time.
ReplyDeleteUh oh! I hope it hasn't happened to you as well!
DeleteYou seem to have accomplished quite a bit anyway! But I can relate to the Netflix addiction...I'm finding and viewing shows that I missed on TV. Enjoy your week! Here's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
ReplyDeleteI've read SO many books this year. I'll definitely be proud of my prowess...even if the end of the year has been a drag ;)
DeleteSlumps happen. And really I don't read half of what you do and I hit slumps! By way to beat it is not to make reading plans - just wait for a book to call to you!
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm just reading when I feel like it. It's not as much as I usually do but I keep telling myself that it's OK!! I don't always have to be a reading robot that never stops, lol
DeleteSometimes you just need to binge-watch a bunch of sitcoms! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour current read looks good though. Glad you're getting your groove back!
It's coming back, slowly but surely!!
Deletehahaha I can relate to the Netflix temptations!! I have so many shows to catch up on!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see posts here and there from you. I agree with BookBelle - bits of The Relentless Reader are better than none at all. :)
Thanks Monika :D I'm glad to be out here posting a bit again!
DeleteGlad to see you here this week. Understanding the slump and no fixed commitments. Seeing you a little is better than not at all.
ReplyDeleteThanks bunches! :D I'm hoping to be at the tail-end of this yucky slump!
DeleteI always hit slumps at this time of year. You've read a lot more than me, I can see why this time of year of might be hard.
ReplyDeleteDo you think we over-fill our brains with words?? That's what it feels like, lol.
DeleteI'm currently in a slump too, despite saying to myself I wanted December to be really good. Considering the amount you've read I think it's kind of natural that this is happened, and definitely don't worry about it, you've read enough to counter the reading effects of a hundred slumps!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're in a slump Charlie :( Blerg, they are are the worst! I hope you slog your way out of it very soon :D
DeleteWelcome back! Take your time and post when you wanna!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rebecca :D I'm feeling better about reading/blogging every day!
DeleteJust do whatever you like! You don't have to blog if you don't want to, though we all like to read your stuff ;) Hug! Hope you'll feel more into books soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling WAY better than I did even a week ago :) Hooray! I think it's over!
