The Relentless Weekly Wrap-Up 11/03/13

Reviews:

None this week (!!!)

Read:

Constance by Franny Moyle

The Butler by Wil Haygood

The Execution of Noa P. Singleton by Elizabeth L. Silver

Currently Reading:

I'm currently deciding what to read next. Or maybe I'll continue to watch Parks and Recreation on Netflix instead? I don't know man, don't rush me.

Why have I only just discovered this program? It's ridiculously awesome.

Upcoming:

I am still waiting for the first book in the MaddAddam trilogy to arrive from the library. Argh. Otherwise I'm reading on a whim baby, and it feels awesome.

Other Business:

The Red Sox won the World Series. That was pretty awesome, right? In other sports news, my beloved Green Bay Packers play Chicago on Monday night. It should be a good game. Can't wait! Aren't Monday night games the best?

I hope you all had a great week. Here's to another! And, as always, HAPPY READING!

  1. In answer to your questions, in order: 1.) Yes, continue watching Parks & Rec, 2.) Because you're a loser. See associated Facebook comment. :P, 3.) No, as a Yankees fan, I definitely can say not awesome, and 4.) I don't watch football. So there. Again :P

I've never watched Parks & Recreation though lots of people really love it. I might have to give it a whirl one day!

    2. Haha yeah, Andy no doubt about it. I'm really behind on my reviews too which is unusual of me... hoping to be all caught up though by the end of the week :)

  4. Wooooo reading on a whim! I'm a fan.

Also, I used to love the Green Bay Packers when I was a kid. I don't really know why, but I did. And now I'm always too busy to watch football :/ I'll root for them in my head.

    Have a great week!! :-D

  7. Can.Not.Stand the Red Sox (I used to live a mile from and work a block from Fenway Park...that was pretty ugly). However, I'm a huge Packers Fan, much to my Seahawk-fan husband's dismay, so I'll be rooting with you on Monday night!

  8. Go Sox! And I have to shout out to my FSU Seminoles for beating Miami! That was fab, too.

I'm with you on the Netflix thing though, it's fabulous but sucks up my reading time!!!!

  9. Clearly the Red Sox were the better team.

I was hoping you could tell me if The Execution of Noa Singleton was worth reading.

    1. I'm glad the series didn't go 7 games, that always kills me.

Noa P. was a pretty good book. Unreliable narrator...I always dig that :D

    2. Unreliable narrator! I'm there!

I got to see the Red Sox play last summer in Kansas City. Exciting game.

  10. Okay, but I'm sort of missing the reviews. We are a house divided but I cannot endorse the Sox winning the World Series. However, the Cardinals, blah too. Enjoy your reads and recommend me some good reads this week, 'kay?

    1. Oh gosh, I know! I'm hoping to get a few out there this week :D I'd really love to see some small market teams make it to the Series one of these days. Milwaukee Brewers please, thanks.

  11. No reviews?! Whoa. That's unheard of. BUT, I'm looking forward to the Noa Singleton review. I got a copy from NetGalley but it wouldn't open and I never got to read it :(

    1. That's the worst!! I've had that NetGalley snafu happen to me a few times recently and it stinks :(

  12. I always love a Ron Swanson gif! :D

No reviews from you is a sad, sad week. :( ;)

  13. I'm finally reading on a whim this week too :) It's exciting but I've also been feeling a bit lost each time I finish a book and don't have something I have to start next!

    1. It can be a strange feeling! We've gotten so used to reading on a schedule.

  14. I pretty much always read on a whim. Lol. Welcome to the dark side!

I can't watch Parks and Rec - it is just so uncomfortable for me! So awkward and I feel embarrassed for the characters, I have to leave the room. That always happened to me watching The Office too.

    1. Ha ha! My brother-in-law is the same way. He could never watch The Office either, lol. That is too funny!

    1. And the quietness has continued. I'm in some sort of bubble of silence lately...
