My Facebook page hit 1000 likes earlier this week! |
My youngest kidlet went to Nana's (my mom) house this week. She was there for an intensive course in home economics. They sewed, they cooked, they TALKED ABOUT ME...I just know it! My mom taught Avery how to make spaghetti sauce and banana bread. They sewed a few secret projects that I won't know about until Christmas. They also made these two cutie pies:

Can you handle the adorableness?
Have a great week sweet peas!
I hope you don't find this too forward, but are you going to give all of us a kiss on our heads too? ;)
ReplyDeleteI would if I could, you know it! :D
DeleteThose sewed toys are ADORABLE! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading, both those books look good. And wow about the 1K facebook likes!
Aren't they ridiculously cute? ;) I can't get over them!
DeleteThanks!!
Truly adorable!! Nanas are great for kids...and now that I am one (and have been for many years now!), I enjoy it from this side, too.
ReplyDeleteI read books two and three of the MaddAddam trilogy...I liked the second one better than the third. Hope you enjoy the ones you choose.
Here's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
I can't wait to be a Nana! Or a Grandma...or whatever I decide to call myself when the time comes :D
DeleteI'm looking forward to that trilogy! Thanks for visiting Laurel :D
I totally just bought Tiny Beautiful Things yesterday and cannot wait to get around to it. Also, MINIONS! I did not just sit and giggle at that gif for a few too many moments...well I did but I love minions. Congrats for the Facebook likes, you definitely deserve the love. Happy reading for next week :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Ellie, you are in for a treat! It's beyond lovely :D
DeleteThanks darlin'!
I love those cuddly things! So cool!
ReplyDelete:D Thanks Athira! I hope she makes more and more!
DeleteTotoro!!! I want! So adorable! I loved Beautiful Things, hope you did too. Congrats on 1000 followers! Woot :)
ReplyDeleteTotoro love, hooray! Cutest thing isn't he? ;)
DeleteTiny Beautiful Things was incredible. Seriously.
Congrats on the followers! Got a kick out of seeing Mr Roper in your gif review. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, Mr. Roper ;) Ahh, those were the golden days of television!
DeleteCongrats on all the facebook likes! I enjoy the pictures you post over there :) I'm in the middle of "The Year of the Flood" now, and I think so far I liked "Oryx and Crake" a little better, but Atwood is so amazing at world building, it's still fascinating to see all the different paths people were taking after the apocalyptic catastrophe in this trilogy. Looking forward to "MaddAddam" before long!
ReplyDeleteThanks lady :D
DeleteI hope I like the trilogy. I'm not a HUGE fan of dystopian stuff BUT I really dig Atwood so I have high hopes.
It's so good for our kids to spend time with their grandmas. Makes me miss my own grandma! Looks like you had a good reading week. I still can't get over how fast you read.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I was so happy that they were hanging out for that long. I was a little nervous about what sort of tales my mom would tell her though... ;)
DeleteI did, I did! I hope you did as well!
You must feel like Malcolm in the Middle this week with your daughter and mom cavorting as they are! You must tell me what spoiler you were referring to on my blog re Bridget. I am at a loss.
ReplyDeleteOh, I guess it's not really a spoiler since I've seen it all over the place, but I'm talking about Darcy being DEAD. Wahhh!
DeleteOh I just picked up The House Girl yesterday, considering it. Are you going to review it? And Lookaway, Lookaway?!
ReplyDeleteI might do mini-reviews of those since they were library books :D They were both good! Especially Lookaway, Lookaway. That book was a riot, lol.
DeleteYou read all of these books last week?! AFTER the read-a-thon?! I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteHa! Yes! I didn't think of it that way ;)
DeleteWhat a great week of reading! I bet your daughter had such an awesome time - I know I'd love to know how to sew those awesome little things :)
ReplyDeleteI had more time to read since the kidlet was gone ;) She really did have a great time. They're already planning their next week of lessons!
DeleteAah! I love the one on the right, though I can't quite tell what he's supposed to be... with so many appendages visible from the front, I'm thinking octopus? Whatever he is, he's adorable, and I want one!
ReplyDeleteYou're correct, octopus. I should have captioned those, lol. In fact, I'm going to now!! :D
DeleteThose are adorable creatures! I didn't know Cheryl Strayed had another book out. I haven't managed to read the first one yet.
ReplyDeleteJoy's Book Blog
The Strayed is a collection of letters written to her when she did the advice column on The Rumpus. It's amazing!
DeleteCongratulations on the 1000 FB likes! You got lots of reading done this week, too. I'm off to check out a few posts I missed this week. Oh, and the stuffies or plushies are adorable! Well done, kidlet and Nana!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you! Aren't they the cutest? Ahh! Every time I look at the octopus I almost die of cuteness ;)
DeleteThat is so adorable!! Congratulations on your FB likes. Have fun this week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer :D You too! Hope you have a great one!
DeleteI loved Ella Minnow Pea! So crazy! What a cool home ec class, that your daughter could learn from your mom. Making memories along with learning, I love it. And I don't know how to sew or knit or anything like that! I plan to learn to knit this winter though, from my uncle. :)
ReplyDeleteI am off to check out your mini-reviews!
Ella Minnow Pea was such a neat book! Loved it :D
DeleteI wish I had taken the time to learn those things when I was younger. Now I sorta feel like an old dog/new tricks, ha!
Congrats on 1000 likes! That's an awesome milestone. Your reading weeks always put mine to shame.
ReplyDeleteThanks bunches Brooke! I was pretty excited to hit 1000 :D
DeleteCongrats on the 1000 followers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melinda :D
DeleteBy the way, banana bread with caramel spread used to be one of my favourite treats as a kid. Tell Avery to try that combo :)
DeleteOh my, Ollie the Octopus is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou did really well with your reading. It's taking me all month to finish two books. Pitiful. Everything has slowed down on the reading front but that's okay. I was already way behind for the year. I am not going to sweat it now.
Cute as can be, right? :)
DeleteReal life can get in the way of reading, it just happens. Don't sweat it indeed, that's the best attitude! :D
that despicable me gif is my favorite thing ever. Love it! Congrats on 1000 followers!
ReplyDeleteHa ha :) Thanks Trish!
DeleteWow, 1000 FB followers! Congratulations! It's wonderful that your mom is teaching your daughter all of those skills (I really, really wish I could sew!). The toys are adorable. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteI should really be the one taking lessons. I wasn't interested when I was a kid, probably because it wasn't cool enough or something. Dumb!
DeleteThanks!
Oooo, I loved Ella Minnow Pea! Can't wait to see what you thought.
ReplyDeleteThat octopus is adorable!!! Your mom has SKILLS.
I'm so glad I read it, thanks to your rec! It was such a cool book.
DeleteThanks!
I love your use of a minion gif! The minions are just so adorable :)
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I've never seen either of those movies?! Don't throw things at me ;) I really do need to remedy that though!
DeleteLook at you with all of the good books! Wanna know your thoughts on Ella Minnow Pea and The House Girl especially!
ReplyDeleteWoot woot! ;) I'd better do a post of mini reviews on those recent library reads of mine :D
