30 Day Book Challenge: Day 3

30 Day Book Challenge

Day #3: A Book That Completely Surprised You

Easy peasy answer: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I was browsing around at the library and the cover of this struck me so I picked it up. I read the flap and thought, "Blech, fantasy." A woman browsing close to me said that she loved it.  I didn't want to be a jerk and discount her opinion so I checked it out.

When I got home I decided to give it a shot. I was swept away. Completely sucked in. Absolutely surprised.

This was before the buzz about this book became loud and insistent. I wanted the world to read it and now it seems that everyone has. Yay!

  1. I still haven't read this, MOSTLY because everyone keeps saying I should. I'm so stubborn.

    1. If I hadn't read it before it exploded in popularity I probably wouldn't have either! What is with that? If a bunch of people like something I will shy away from it, a lot of the time anyway.

    1. I always worry when I go on and on about a book that it will be a let down when people read it! I hope that's not the case for you Rebecca :) I really hope you love it!

  6. I COMPLETELY agree. I saw this book and was immediately turned off by the fantastical look of the cover. But it's been one of my favorites of 2012 (and possibly all time!).

    1. Right?! I thought it looked the worst of YA or something, lol. But it was fantastic and it might be one of my all time faves too Kelly!
