The Kingsolver book has me interested! await your finish and review.
ReplyDeleteSo far so good Mystica :) I hope to have a review up this week
DeleteI've heard good things about Between Shades of Gray! I hope you enjoyed it! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was so good, absolutely beautiful. I can't recommend it strongly enough!
DeleteI should grab Are You There God, It's Me Margaret off the shelves, I always enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHave another great week of readning.
I haven't read it since I was a kid and it's fun to re-read now that I'm an adult.
DeleteI took a solo trip to the library for the first time in a long time this week. It was really nice to not look at any books that featured the Berenstein Bears or dinosaurs! What books are you getting at the library?
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear what you think about Flight Behavior. That is one Kingsolver novel I haven't read yet.
Ha ha, I remember those years well! My youngest is 12 now so those days are over for me (I miss them though!)
DeleteThe Cutting Season and Flowers for Algernon are 2 of the books that are waiting for me. I've requested a few titles to read for Roof Beam Reader's LGBT reading event as well. I know there are others, but those are the couple I remember :)
The Kingsolver is pretty good, I'm learning quite a bit about Monarch butterflies!
your 'perks' read was another banned bk addition to the week -
ReplyDeleteoh library visits! love them...;) enjoy !
Perks is AMAZING!! I want to read it again and then buy copies for everyone I know :)
DeleteThe library is my home away from home, I just love it there!
I haven't read Are You There God? It's Me Margaret yet but I've heard great things. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on this one! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's an oldie but a goodie, Judy Blume at her best :)
DeleteHow is the new Kingslover book? My favorite book this week was Dr. Seuss: The Cat Behind the Hat by Caroline W. Smith. Please come see what I'm reading now.
ReplyDeleteSo far so good, I'm enjoying it.
DeleteI am so looking forward to your Banned Books post! Will your daughter contribute her thoughts as well?
ReplyDeleteI hope she will! I'm hoping we can finish up today since I'm supposed to post about it tomorrow, lol.
DeleteBetween Shade's of Grey looks really interesting. Happy reading! I hope you'll drop by and check out what I've been up to this week.
ReplyDeleteIt was! Sad but lovely. I hope you get to it some day :)
DeleteI'm hoping to get to Between Shades of Grey before the year is out. Looking forward to your banned books post.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading :)
I hope you do get to it, it's a fantastic book! Yay for Banned Books Week! :D
DeleteBetween Shades of Gray has been added to TBR list...unlike other books that mention shades of grey! :) You can check out my Monday here

LOL Kylie, I hear you. I feel bad for the author..saddled with a title that she probably chose a long time ago but which now will remind people of that OTHER book.
DeleteJanuary First is on my TBR list....hope you enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY MONDAY MEMES POST
I hope you enjoy it when you get to it! Thanks, same to you
DeleteLoved Are You There God, read it years ago but remember enough of it, and really struggle to understand what was so bad that it could be banned. Have a good reading week :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder that about most books that are banned or challenged, lol. I just learned that Green Eggs & Ham is on that list! Whhhaaaaattt??
DeleteI'm yet to read a Barbara Kingsolver book, but have one on my shelves! January First sounds intriguing and probably heartbreaking. xx
ReplyDeleteI've read a good number of hers, maybe all of them? Hmm, I'll have to look now! I like the way she uses nature almost as a character.
DeleteBanned Books, of course! The Kite Runner and listening to The Giver with my kids. BTW, great job on the quiz last week. Everyone, Jennifer knows her vocab- that's what happens when you read a lot! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, I loved The Kite Runner! I'm a word nerd, just like you Julia ;) Proud to be one!
DeleteI wish I had been able to find time to do Bloggiesta. I'm living vicariously through your post by reading all of the links that you included instead. LOL I'll do it next time, though.
ReplyDeleteGreat links right? I plan on plugging away on all of the other Bloggiesta stuff when I have time :)
DeleteLooking forward to your post tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI have the Kingslover latest on my wishlist. I'm going to check out your reviews of The Perks of being a Wallflower and January First, both of which I recently read and reviewed as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm also looking forward to seeing what you think about Are You There God? It's me Margaret
Thanks for stopping by Book'd Out earlier!

I'm almost done with the Kingsolver. It's a darn good read. Maybe not her best? But still very enjoyable. :)
DeleteI am so far behind and trying to catch up on commenting. I'm slowly working my way through Flight Behavior still. I'm not quite certain what I think about it yet. I'll have to check out your review after I finish mine!
